Man, I'm bored. These are 1:6 scale dolls modeled after Valve's multiplayer game, Team Fortress 2. These were constructed using bargain bin $8 Soldiers of the World dolls at a local KB Toys along with a lot of cheap materials.

Project began in June, and completed in late October.
*EDIT: All primary weapons completed, Including Engineer's shotgun, but not depicted on all figures.
Medic has full set of weapons (syringe gun has been replaced with the unlockable Blutsauger), Scout has scattergun stored in his messenger bag.

Details on each individual figure may be found in the corresponding "deviations" if they have been listed. Diagrams for parts, clothing and other materials can be scanned on request, but no guarantees on level of detail or completeness.

Overall cost of all materials used is under $150.

EDIT:
Totally ninjitsu'ed the picture with a less horrible one. Older one can be seen here:

I'm not deleting the old photo in the rare event you liked that better than this one. Changes from previous, child-scaringly bad photo:

*Toolbox is an actual toolbox. Not a red box that looks like a spam container. Toolbox details can be found here:
[link]

*Demoman no longer suffers from MJ identity syndrome.
*Medic no longer has the "Fugly" head.
*Demoman and Sniper have updated, "higher poly" weapon models.

Things I still need to fix:
*Pyro is still horrible. Any suggestions on where to get rubbery suits, please drop me a line.
*Scout's questionable. Needs a new head and bat. Keeping the slightly muscular body because it has a built in BONK! button.
*Spy needs a better, not pink suit.
*other upgrades

Team Fortress 2 dolls by ~JNorad. The suggester wrote, "It is clear that a lot of effort was put into transforming generic dolls into the Team Fortress 2 cast, and the end result is fabulously accurate." Modded by sculpting with Sculpey and painting with acrylics, about 4 months of work for the entire set. (Suggested by ~pdonkeh and Featured by `Kitten-of-Woe)

Excellent comerade.

One question: Where does one get jointed dolls? Like the ones in your pic. I try to find them, but I come up empty handed.

Some men look better in a dress and wig than others.

Also, certain fangirl lab experiments shouldn't be tested on certain fandoms. That just aint right.

I bought my 1:6 scale figures at the now going out of business KB Toys store (located in the US, in case you're not familiar with them) for $5-8 apiece (clearance). They're pretty bad quality with semi loose joints, but great for modding.

Some toy shops may sell 1:6 scale figures under the brands "Dragon" or "Ultimate Soldier" by 21st Century Toys. These are much better in quality, but cost near $35-40 a figure. There's a few online shops that deal in these. It's quite expensive to buy these at retail price, especially for modding 9 figures.

The ones I bought are called "Soldiers of the World", which retail for $25-30, and as far as I know, no sane retailer stocks them. They're very bad in build quality, cheap plastics, and need some extra care to make usable. Don't buy these unless you can get them for $5-10. They're not worth it otherwise.

Your best bet is either ebay.com for cheap deals on blank 1:6 scale figure bodies (there's usually 3-5 people just selling unclothed, headless figures in a lot of 3 or so) or by finding a local store that distributes Dragon or 21st Century Toys. Just remember, the price of what you pay is quite proportional to the quality of the figure.

If you are planning on making FEMALE figures, you'll have better luck with selection, but worse luck finding them in stores. Obitsu and Volks make 1:6 scale dolls, usually for $19-25 for a headless one. I've never seen one in the stores around me, but your location may be better. These primarily can be found on ebay.com the easiest, since you'll have to deal with japanese sites to purchase them. CY-Girl also makes a few, but like the others, not common.

Good luck with your search and endeavors.

Thank you very much for your opinion and information.
